Position Summary

The Originating Sales Manager will manage all subordinate sales personnel. Primary job responsibilities include origination of residential mortgage loans, driving sales, recruiting, training, and dealing with personnel issues, as well as providing goals and objectives to the sales team and branch.

Essential Functions

  • Representing the company in an enthusiastic and professional manner through providing exceptional customer service, adhering to the core values of our mission statement in all functions of your job responsibilities and interaction with both internal staff and external customers
  • Sales Manager will be responsible for the day to day operations of the sales team. This includes, but is not limited to:
    • Remaining familiar with and ensuring that all loans originated by the employee and subordinates are handled in accordance with the Company's policies, guidelines, quality control, applicable federal, state, and local laws, and investor guidelines
    • Hiring, developing, maintaining, training and supervision of sales team employees to minimize risk
    • Ensuring that all persons performing any services for the Company through the sales team are Company employees, properly registered, are approved to start by Company and, as applicable, approved by the Company to originate loans
    • Ensuring that all websites or other social media used by the employee’s subordinates that relate in any way to financing residential real estate are approved by the Company prior to posting for access by the general public
    • Ensuring that all borrowers are advised of the most appropriate financing options
    • Managing and overseeing appropriately the daily functions of members of the sales team and minimizing risk to the Company

Qualifications

  • Current experience in the mortgage industry working in a sales environment
  • Current or recent supervisory/management experience
  • Valid driver's license
  • NMLS registration
  • Significant experience in originating residential real estate loans and ability to manage and supervise the loan origination process of such loan files for both yourself and subordinates through closing of the transaction
  • Preferred 3 years sales management experience
  • High level of oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytic skills, attention to detail, and ability to work within time constraints
  • Excellent level of interpersonal skills/ability to work effectively with others
  • Excellent knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA and USDA product guidelines
  • Intermediate level of computer skills, including the ability to function in a Windows environment
  • Ability to be results oriented with sound judgment
  • Ability to be assertive, persuasive while managing risk to the Company
  • Ability to supervise and manage the workflow of subordinate(s) through superior leadership skills
  • Ability to establish credibility and be decisive while recognizing and supporting the company's preferences and priorities
  • Ability to motivate, develop, and coach subordinates
